  1. I do think he should resign. Although in one sense it was a personal matter, he left the country and no one in SC knew where he was. What if there had been a disaster (natural or otherwise) and the National Guard had to be mobilized? The Lt. Gov. had not been put in charge during Sandford’s absence. It would have taken a longer time to get anything done. I don’t see how his staff could ever trust him again.

  2. Thanks for your comments Erika. I couldn’t agree with you more. Gov. Sanford let his staff down and most importantly he failed to live up to the expectations entrusted to him by the people of South Carolina. He should resign to focus on his marriage and allow the state to move on.
